Trump states denying him Nobel Peace Prize will be insulting to US
During a speech to top army officials in Quantico, Virginia, Trump stated that he believes his accomplishments qualify him for the award, even though he has been constantly not taken into account.
Highlighting his latest Middle East peace initiative, the president alleged this resolution brought his total to eight wars resolved in eight months.
He said “we’ll have eight, eight in eight months… Will you get the Nobel Prize? Absolutely not,” then he added that “they’ll give it to some guy that didn’t do a damn thing.”
Trump made a joke that the award would probably be given to a writer instead, while still asserting that he wasn't interested in personal acknowledgement. He stated that “it’ll be a big insult to our country, I will tell you that. I don’t want it. I want the country to get it.”
