Trump, Netanyahu Hold Second ‘Lengthy’ Call Amid Rising Regional Tensions
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly held what Israeli media described as a “lengthy and dramatic” phone conversation overnight, marking their second discussion within several days.
According to reports, no official details were released regarding the substance of the talks, though the exchange was portrayed as highly significant as Washington and Tel Aviv weigh possible next steps related to Iran.
Israeli media said the discussion took place while both leaders appeared to be approaching a major decision concerning the ongoing confrontation with Iran.
Neither the White House nor Netanyahu’s office publicly commented on the call.
Reports recalled that the two leaders also spoke Sunday in a conversation lasting more than half an hour, during which they discussed “the possibility of renewing fighting in Iran.”
After that exchange, Trump posted a warning directed at Iran on his Truth Social platform, writing that “the Clock is Ticking” for Tehran.
On Monday evening, Trump stated that he had delayed a military strike that had reportedly been planned for Tuesday against Iran following requests from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
He also said he ordered the US Defense Department “to be prepared to go forward with a full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment’s notice, in the event that an acceptable Deal is not reached.”
