California Winery Estate Once Owned by Host Alex Trebek Pending Sale for $16.9M in Just 39 Days via Concierge Auctions

Paso Robles Estate––once a treasured escape for the late iconic Jeopardy! Host––pending sale as part of the auction firm’s Wine Division

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Concierge Auctions announced today that Windfall Farms––the legendary Central Coast estate in Paso Robles known for its wineries and olive groves, once owned by legendary Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek––is pending sale for $16.9 million after 39 days of auction marketing. Offered in cooperation with Chris Atkinson and Patty Murphy of Sotheby's International Realty.

The August 15 auction—held live on the RM Sotheby's stage for the first time ever during the 10-day Monterey Car Week event showcased luxury properties across Texas, New Mexico and California. In addition to the marquee auction, “House of Concierge” was also on display during the RM Sotheby’s preview days, which gave attendees a preview of each property in the days leading up to the auction.

"Windfall Farms is the type of extraordinary, highly specialized property that demonstrates the value of a competitive auction process," said Carolyn Wright, VP of Business Development at Concierge Auctions. "Our global platform generated meaningful competition among qualified buyers and delivered a definitive result on an accelerated timeline. Bringing the sale live to Monterey Car Week for our first appearance at one of the world’s premier luxury events provided an exceptional stage for a property of this caliber."

"This is a property that truly defies category, which made finding the right buyer especially important," said Atkinson. "From its operational vineyard business and equestrian heritage to its remarkable scale and long-term potential, Windfall Farms offers something that simply cannot be replicated on the Central Coast. We're thrilled with the outcome and proud to have partnered with Concierge Auctions to introduce this remarkable property to a global audience of qualified buyers who were eager to jump at this once-in-a-generation opportunity."

Previously owned by Trebek until the early 2000s, Windfall Farms spans an extraordinary combination of agricultural, equestrian, and residential uses. The estate includes 387 acres of premium dry red varietals, currently sold under contract to name-brand regional wineries and operated under turnkey management, alongside 76 approved buildable lots that offer significant long-term flexibility.

Its equestrian infrastructure is anchored by a Kentucky-style 6.5-furlong racetrack, expansive paddocks, and four purpose-built barns dedicated to training, foaling, stallion breeding, and yearling operations. An approximately 10,000-square-foot main residence, two additional manager's residences, and extensive agricultural and utility infrastructure complete the property.

The sale further underscores Concierge Auctions' expanding presence in vineyard and wine-country real estate through its Global Wine & Vineyard Division, the industry's only auction platform dedicated exclusively to wineries, vineyards, and wine-country properties. The division most recently facilitated the sale of Benessere Vineyards, a historic 42-acre estate and winery in the heart of Napa Valley, for $10.15 million after just 77 days of auction marketing.
Paso Robles has emerged as one of California’s premier wine destinations, with more than 200 wineries across 11 distinct sub-appellations. Within a 20-mile radius of Windfall Farms are renowned producers including Justin Vineyards, DAOU Vineyards, Halter Ranch and Tablas Creek, while the beaches of Cambria and Cayucos are approximately 30 minutes away.
