Wonderfilm Pictures Acquires MotoCrane Titan LT to Expand VFX Array Rentals and Global Film Equipment Hire from the UK

LONDON, GREATER LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Wonderfilm Pictures, the London-based film production and VFX technology company, has added the MotoCrane Titan LT stabilised head to its rental fleet, significantly expanding the capability of its RED KOMODO-X VFX Array systems and its international film equipment hire services.

With a payload capacity of 40lb (approximately 18kg), the Titan LT comfortably carries Wonderfilm's three- and four-camera KOMODO-X arrays with a full accessory package — wireless video, lens control, ND filtration and sync hardware — and still leaves headroom. For multi-camera VFX plate capture, where every camera adds weight and every accessory adds more, that margin changes what can be mounted, how aggressively it can be moved, and how confidently it can be operated on the ground, on a vehicle or on a crane.

The DJI Ronin 2 has been central to Wonderfilm's aerial work: it is the platform that made a three-camera array flyable, and it remains the company's lightweight choice for drone applications. For ground, vehicle-mounted and larger stabilised work, particularly with the four-way array, the Ronin 2's payload ceiling and rigidity became the limiting factor. The Titan LT — designed by MotoCrane as a direct upgrade path for Ronin 2 users, with a larger build volume and the same camera baseplate — removes that limit while keeping the mounting workflow Wonderfilm's technicians already know.

The acquisition also upgrades the experience for the cinematographers Wonderfilm works with. The Titan LT supports a dedicated hand-wheels operator station, giving DOPs and camera operators the precise, familiar control of a geared head rather than a joystick. When the package being steered is three or four overlapping cameras rather than one, that precision matters: a single framing decision is being made across a 160° or 185° field of view at once.

"The Ronin 2 got our array into the air, and it's still the right tool for that job. What it couldn't give us was the strength and the headroom to run the bigger builds on the ground the way productions want them run," said Lewis Andrews, founder of Wonderfilm Pictures.
